Gone are the magnificent harbours that once dotted the shores of every land. The waters have risen more than 80 meters. Land is everything! Millions are starving. Fertile plains are no more. The great grain belts of the world have been tightened. Tension runs high yet there is hope. Four rallying hosts prepare in haste. One dominion can save but a few… the race is on.

Antarctica will surely become the new favorite strategy game.  With the innovative (patented) Antarctica interactive Play surface, the game takes on new dimensions as the weather wheel turns to bring storms over new areas of the play surface.

Game Includes:  Weather Wheel and attached play surface, Cloud cover Disc, Game board, 5 Dice (4 white & 1 black), 80 Fate cards (23 actions), 3 Reference cards, 200 Civilian Notes, 584 play pieces (divided into 4 colour groups), GIS map and game rules, 2-20 inch extrusions, Tray, lid and bottom holder, Cardboard tube.

On the Game Board

There are 4 Continents, plus Antarctica. Each Continent depicts a portion of the actual inundated world. Recognizable shorelines are visible under the water.

A rotating Weather Wheel with storm clouds affects game play. Two compass rings are included one close to the centre and another on the perimeter. Both rings have arrows. Compass markings are at 15 degree intervals.

Each Continent has 8 land segments, some with 1 island and 7 main segments and another with 2 islands and 6 main segments. There are 3 harbours per Continent.

Water segments are clearly designated by the off-set square dotted grid pattern.

Coastal segments are transition water segments that have a least one edge as the shoreline of a Continent or Antarctica.

The Cloud Cover Disc is only removed once a player has conquered two Continents. If that player loses any one land segment of these Continents the Cloud Cover Disc is immediately placed back on the board and all play pieces within the Antarctic circle are lost.

The Antarctic circle cannot be entered with the Cloud Cover Disc in place. Arrows align the start position.

Two cutouts in the stationary surface layer, on opposite sides of the board, make movement of the Weather Wheel possible. A vernier scale on the base game board lines up with the perimeter of the Weather Wheel and adds precision to its movement. Cardinal compass points (N,E,W,S) are indicated on the outer perimeter circle.

Each corner of the board is home to five boxes numbered 1 - 5. They serve as play piece storage for identically numbered Transport Ships.

Weather Wheel

There are 5 storms of various intensities with 1 to 3 storm centres marked by targets. Storm targets locate the affected segments.

Storm intensity (A modified ‘Beaufort Scale’) is determined by a roll of 1 die before the Weather Wheel is moved to a new position.

Lose 1 Hit point Lose 2 Hit points

Frozen means no activity, no movement into or out of that segment and no revenue if a city is present. Lose hit points means the loss of a play piece of that value or combination thereof.

Weather effects are immediate at the start of a player’s turn or on receiving a weather fate card.

The Weather Wheel moves clockwise 1 notch (15 degrees) after all -players have completed their turn.

Fate cards can reverse direction, can advance storms 3 notches (45 degrees) or 6 notches (90 degrees) in one go.
